About JMJ Professionals

We are founded as a small company offering quality independent antenatal classes in the Essex area. Established by two qualified midwives with nearly 30 years clinical experience, delivering babies within the NHS.

We differ from many private pregnancy classes in that we are midwives and health visitors who have personally assisted mothers and their partners through pregnancy in both the labour ward and at home.

We are currently practicing within our fields in the NHS and our qualifications can be verified with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register. We are cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau to work with children.

Our continued professional development ensures that you receive the most current evidence-based information available that includes our first-hand knowledge of local practice and procedures within the local hospitals and community.

Our Philosophy

We encourage you to have an enriching birth experience.

We focus on exploring, reflecting and encouraging a proactive approach to childbirth.

We will establish your personal requirements through discussion to ensure your needs are fully met.

We are aware that no two women have the same birth experience. We therefore place our emphasis on 'individuality'.

Our Staff

Marie - "I began my nursing career in the early 80's. I qualified as a midwife in 1993 and since completing my degree in 2003 have worked as a midwife and health visitor. I am fortunate to have a career that I love. I have 3 children and really appreciated the ante-natal groups I attended during each pregnancy. I've never forgotten the value of those groups and feel strongly that the experience and knowledge gained in such sessions can truly influence the outcome of pregnancy, labour, and later parenthood."

Janet - "I completed my general nursing training in the mid-80's and continued to work part-time whilst caring for my 2 children. I gained my midwifery diploma in 1998 and began working in the community 7 years ago. My work entails providing a high standard of care and many home births that are fortunately becoming more popular. I have previously established and ran many successful ante-natal classes, and firmly believe in women's choice. I have always found great satisfaction in helping expectant mums achieve the birth experience they envisaged."
